VIETNAM
Vietnam, a land of lush landscapes and vibrant cultures, faces a pressing challenge - the clean water crisis. Despite its natural beauty, a significant portion of the population in Vietnam struggles to access safe and reliable drinking water.
Waterborne Diseases: The lack of clean water sources exposes communities to waterborne diseases, such as cholera, typhoid, and diarrheal illnesses. These diseases can have severe consequences on health, particularly affecting vulnerable groups like children and the elderly.
Inadequate Sanitation: Poor sanitation facilities and improper waste disposal contribute to water contamination, further exacerbating the water crisis. The absence of proper sanitation facilities impacts public health and poses environmental concerns.
Rural Disparities: Rural areas often bear the brunt of the water crisis, with limited infrastructure and access to clean water sources. As a result, communities in these regions face daily struggles to secure safe drinking water.
Climate Change Impact: Vietnam is vulnerable to the effects of climate change, which can lead to more frequent and severe water-related challenges like flooding, droughts, and saltwater intrusion. These factors intensify the existing water crisis.
Social and Economic Implications: The lack of access to clean water affects education, livelihoods, and overall socio-economic development. Women and children, primarily responsible for water collection, often have limited opportunities for education and economic empowerment.
The FILM4WATER project aims to address the clean water crisis in Vietnam by funding clean water initiatives, including the distribution of Sawyer water filters and organizing clean water trips. With your support, we strive to bring the essential gift of clean water to the communities in Vietnam, alleviating the burden of waterborne illnesses and paving the way for a healthier and more prosperous future.
Join us in our mission to make a positive impact in Vietnam and beyond, where the availability of clean water is not just a necessity but a fundamental human right. Together, we can turn the tide against the clean water crisis and bring hope to those in need.

RECAP:
About a 6 hour drive from Da Nang, into the central highlands, sits a small mountain village, home to the local Dong People.
After driving up the hill you are greated by the gates of the school, topped with colorful flags, with children gathering around as the van pulls up to the gates.

We set up sleeping bags in what would be the teacher's lounge, and headed to the courtyard, where all the activities took place.

Part of our mission here was to paint a mural on the side of the school, in addition to play with the kids and donate some very needed school supplies, art supplies, and tooth brushes, all in preparation for opening day.
